“The sustainability report shows us the extent to which the company contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals / SDGs,” said Ali Darwin, Chair of the NCSR, on the sidelines of the ASRRAT Forum event.

Apart from that, he continued, his party could also assess through sustainability reports, the economic, environmental and social impacts arising from the company’s operations, both positive and negative impacts.

“From 2005 to 2017, for 12 years, this event was called the Sustainability Reporting Awards,” said Prof. Eko Ganis Ph.D Chairman of the Jury. However, since 2018, NCSR has changed its system from Award to Rating, continued Eko.

According to Ali Darwin, the change to the Sustainability Report Rating system began in 2016 with participants from companies in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. “This is the only sustainability report rating system currently available” Ali added. NCSR divides the sustainability report rating into 4 levels, namely Platinum (highest), Gold, Silver and Bronze (lowest).

This year, the assessment process for the report was carried out by 21 assessors, who are lecturers from various universities in Indonesia.
