The National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR) again held the Asia Sustainability Report Rating (ASRRAT) 2023 ranking ceremony. The ASRRAT award ceremony which was attended by 68 companies and organisations took place at the Raffles Hotel, Jakarta (06/11) and carried the theme Navigating the Path to Net Zero: Accelerating Climate Action In Asia. Net Zero Emissions (NZE) is where we remove as many greenhouse gases from the face of the planet as possible. In addition to the award ceremony, ASRRAT this time also exhibited a sustainability exhibition of a number of companies.
Former Indonesian Minister of Research and Technology Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro in his online speech explained that this theme is quite urgent, navigating the path to net zero. “Our planet has experienced an alarming increase in average temperature of 1.1 degrees Celsius, which is a direct result of exhaust emissions we once made. The goal ahead is very clear. We must reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly and strive to achieve zero emissions by 2050 to mitigate further temperature increases,” said Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro.
In his opening remarks, NCCR Chairman, Dr. Ali Darwin appreciated the participants of ASRRAT 2023. He said that “The dedication of companies and organisations to transparency and accountability and their initiatives to measure and mitigate environmental and social impact risks are inspiring. Sustainability reports have provided valuable insights into progress made in reducing emissions, conserving resources, and advancing social justice. It also serves as a road map for other businesses and organisations to follow.”
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the Chairman of the ASRRAT 2023 Jury, Prof. Irwan Adi Ekaputra said that “With the participation of 68 leading companies, ASRRAT 2023 has increased significantly from the previous year. In addition, ASRRAT 2023 has also been attended by several additional countries, not only from Indonesia, namely Bangladesh, the Philippines, Australia and Russia. This is encouraging, as it signifies the increasing commitment and dedication of organisations around the world towards sustainability efforts and responsible business practices.
Prof. Irwan Adi Ekaputra said that the ASRRAT 2023 assessment process involved a panel consisting of five judges and an assessor team consisting of 18 CSRS certified assessors from all over Indonesia. Careful evaluation and in-depth guidance are essential in upholding Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, enabling us to maintain transparency and accountability in assessing sustainability practices.
NCCR assigns four sustainability report ratings, namely Platinum (highest), Gold, Silver, and Bronze (lowest). In ASRRAT 2023, 12 organizations have won platinum awards, including; PT Angkasa Pura I, PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk, PT Bank BTPN Tbk, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bio Farma (Persero), PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT PLN Indonesia Power, PT PLN Nusantara Power, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), and PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim atau PKT).
Gold ratings for sustainability were awarded to 39 organizations, namely PT ABM Investama Tbk (ABM), PT Agincourt Resources, PT Badak NGL, Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sumatera Selatan dan Bangka Belitung (Bank Sumsel Babel), PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk, Great Giant Foods (GGF), Kerja Sama Operasi Terminal Petikemas Koja, PT Kideco Jaya Agung (KIDECO), Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), PT Patra Drilling Contractor, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI), PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), PT Pertamina Power Indonesia (PNRE), Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (PERURI), PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC), PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), Satuan Kerja Khusus Pelaksana Kegiatan Usaha Hulu Minyak dan Gas Bumi (SKK Migas), Standard Bank Limited, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk, PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk, PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance, Manila Electric Company (Meralco), PT Mass Rapid Transit Jakarta (Perseroda), PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, PT Pertamina Gas, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero), PT Semen Baturaja Tbk, TBS Energi Utama Tbk, PT TIMAH Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and Brawijaya University.
As for the silver rating on sustainability reporting, this level is awarded to 15 organizations, namely PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk, Bank Asia Limited, Danone Indonesia, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk, PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk, LUKOIL, PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk, Nickel Industries, PT Perkebunan Nusantara X, Perusahaan Umum Lembaga Penyelenggara Pelayanan Navigasi Penerbangan Indonesia (Perum LPPNPI)/AirNav, PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara, SM Investments Corporation, PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut, Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji (BPKH), and PT United Tractors Tbk.
The bronze rank of sustainability reporting is occupied by two organisations, namely PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII (PTPN XII) and Jember University.
