Sustainability Reporting Awards (SRA) 2017

Solo, February 24, 2018. The National Center for Sustainability Reporting (NCSR) holds an event entitled “Sustainability Report Awards (SRA)” at the Lorin Solo Hotel today. This event holds for the 13th year is an acknowledgment and appreciation to companies that have made sustainability report.

Through a sustainability report, it can be seen the contribution of the company or organization in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to Ali Darwin, the Executive Director of NCSR, through the sustainability report, the impact of the entity’s operations on the environment and society can be observed.

Sustainability Reporting Awards 2017 was attended by 40 entities. Also present at this event, Prof. Muhammad Nasir, Ph.D, Ak. Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education. At this event, the Certified Sustainability Practitioner Association (ICSP) was launched and established, an institution that developed a sustainability profession. “The number of ICSP members in Indonesia is almost 1,000 people” explained Prof. Eko Ganis Sukoharsono Ph.D, Chairman of the ICSP. Mr. Nasir welcomed the establishment of the ICSP, “The sustainability profession will be developed through the ICSP”, Mr. Nasir stated.

According to Desima, Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk, which in this SRA 2017 won “Best Overall”, that the highest predicate obtained in this SRA 2017 was more encouraging companies to include sustainability issues in every decision making. “This award is a warning, so that we continue to work environmentally and care for the community’, said Desima.

In SRA this year, companies that won first place, second place, and third place are;

Category of Financial Services; Bank Sumsel Babel, Bank BNI, and Bank Maybank Indonesia.
Category of Energy; PGN, Star Energy Geothermal, and Indonesia Power.
Category of Mining and Metal; Vale Indonesia, Indocement, and Semen Tonasa.
Category of Gas and Petroleum; Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ, Pertamina EP Cepu and Pertamina (Persero).
Category of Infrastructure; Telkom, United Tractors and Wijaya Karya.
Category of Manufacturing; Pupuk Indonesia, Bio Farma, and Phapros.
Category of Combined Report; Timah, and Pertamina Lubricants.
Category of Government Institutions; SKK Migas and BPJS Employment.
Category of Overseas; Bank Asia Limited (Bangladesh) and Telekom Berhad Malayisa.
While Phapros, who is a newcomer, also succeeded in obtaining the First Year SRA Entry.

NCSR is a non- governmental organization that established on June 23, 2005 by 5 (five) major independent
organizations which are the Indonesian Management Accountants Institute (IAMI / prev. IAI-KAM), the
Indonesian-Netherlands Association (INA), National Committee on Governance (KNKG), Forum for
Corporate Governance in Indonesia (FCGI) and the Public Listed Companies Association (AEI).

NCSR aims to encourage and promote the use of sustainability reports. Through this report, companies can
transparently disclose the implementation of social and environmental responsibilities, based on the
reporting framework issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) based in the Netherlands is a non-governmental organization that
develops and disseminates globally applicable voluntary Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. This guideline
has been recognized internationally and is widely used in various countries.

Since 2006, NCSR has been a member of GRI and was appointed as the first GRI Certified Training Partner
for the Southeast Asia region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
